Our Story, Mission & Values

Our Humble Beginnings

From a single act of kindness to a nationwide movement for children's rights and wellbeing

The Journey of FAVCY Child Care

FAVCY Child Care Uganda was born from the personal journey of our founder, Pastor Francis Opara—a story filled with hardship, faith, and the burning desire to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children.

Raised in deep poverty where even the poor called him poor, Pastor Francis often went without food, missed school due to lack of fees, and faced daily struggles no child should ever endure. But those early challenges planted seeds of compassion and hope that would later blossom into FAVCY Child Care.

Working first as a teacher and later as a pastor in disadvantaged communities, he witnessed children going through the same suffering he had endured—hunger, lack of education, neglect, and being raised by elderly guardians with no means of support. The pain was familiar, and he knew he had to act.

What began in 2023 as small acts of kindness—providing meals, paying school fees for a few children, and offering counseling—has grown into an organization that reaches thousands of children across Uganda each year.
